ACTS believes our work should be a delight to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Our company and our employees should show a good example of Christianity in the actions we perform. Our tours should be different from those of secular companies in content and in the spirit of fellowship and love that our staff engenders. Those on our tours and those who simply see our tours should come away with a feeling that what we are all about as Christians is something good and something they should themselves want to know more about. We should always be pointing our fellow man to the person of Jesus Christ.
ACTS has several tour objectives:
First, many Americans have forgotten the sacrifices and investments made in creating this great country. A tour with ACTS will remind students of our great Christian heritage, explain the foundations of our freedoms, and tell the dramatic story and impact of America's Christian beginnings. We are committed to passing this Godly heritage on to the next generation.
Secondly, ACTS tours provide students with a visual basis that they can use in upcoming history, social studies, geography and civics courses. We bring some extra life to the classroom, enriching current and future studies.
Thirdly, we feel that travel in itself is a great educator. Using air, boat and train travel, staying in hotels, packing, having a budget, adjusting sleep schedules, perhaps trying different foods, seeing different regions and people of the country, and seeing the wealth of sites all contribute to one great life experience. Many students will hold the trip as one of the top memories of their educational experience.
American Christian Tours sees itself as an extension of your classroom. We want your ACTS tour to contribute to fulfilling the goals that you have set for your students.
American Christian Tours was incorporated in the state of California in 1983. In ACTS first year expectations were to take approximately 200 students to Washington, D.C. and an equal number to the California State Capital. Instead, ACTS finished the year having taken almost 600 students to Washington and about 700 to the state capital.
ACTS first offices were in a small, one room office that was part of a mini-storage warehouse. ACTS second office was in a new retail center. Both were in Palm Springs, California. In 1987, ACTS moved to Rancho, California and had approximately 1200 square feet of commercial office space. In 1988, the company moved to Rice Lake, Wisconsin, planning and building a new 8000 square foot building. The corporate office has been located in Rice Lake since that time.
ACTS has enjoyed growth almost every year of its existence. ACTS currently employs about 25 full time staff, and approximately the same number of part time seasonal staff, hired as our tour leaders.
ACTS offers the best financial protection in the student tour industry through our FDIC insured bank trust account administered by an independent firm of Certified Public Accountants (CPA's).
No other financial protection plan comes even close to providing this level of protection. Not the $1,000,000 dollar plans, not the $5,000,000 plans. All of these would provide back only a fraction of the client's money in the event of the bankruptcy of a major tour company.
ACTS is also a member of NTA, The National Tour Association, which maintains a large Errors and Omissions Liability Policy, all of which help assure the buying public of our integrity.
